His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, in his capacity as the Tutelary Authority and Superintendent of the Executive Body of the Special Administrative Region of Oecusse Ambeno (RAEOA), conducted his first official working visit to RAEOA in 2026. The visit was accompanied by His Excellency the Minister for Planning and Strategic Investment, Eng. Gastão Francisco de Sousa.
The RAEOA Authority, together with the local community, welcomed His Excellency the Prime Minister at the Sakato border, Nipani Village, Pante Makasar Sub-Region, with the traditional Atoni “Takanab” ceremony and cultural performances as a sign of welcome.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the Head of Government and the delegation proceeded to the RAEOA Authority Office in Oebau, where an expanded meeting was held with the RAEOA Authority to discuss programs and priority activities to be implemented during the visit to the region, scheduled from 18 to 22 January 2026.
During this working visit, His Excellency the Prime Minister was accompanied by Her Excellency the Minister of Finance, Santina José Rodrigues F. Viegas Cardoso; His Excellency the Minister of State Administration, Tomás do Rosário Cabral; His Excellency the Minister for Planning and Strategic Investment, Eng. Gastão Francisco de Sousa; and the President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Agostinho Letêncio de Deus.
