H.E. The Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Eng. Gastão Francisco de Sousa, organized an important seminar on August 1, 2025, in Dili, which emphasized the concept of the National Development Bank and presented the national development framework.
The event was attended and directly supported by the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, who delivered the opening speech to emphasize the importance of the development vision for Timor-Leste.
The seminar led to the creation of an interministerial working group composed of representatives from:
- Ministry of Planning and Strategic Investment (MPIE)
- Ministry of Cooperatives and Economic Affairs (MCAE)
- Ministry of Finance (MdF)
- The group will receive technical and strategic collaboration from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Participants included members of the IX Government, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL), academics, representatives of the ADB and the World Bank, who contributed technical discussions and innovative visions for the national development of Timor-Leste.
